Why We Built This Site
Kentucky's unified administration does not place every official file in one state office. One elected Circuit Court Clerk in each county manages Circuit, Family, and District records, including felony, civil, divorce, misdemeanor, traffic, probate, guardianship, and small-claims matters. The separately elected county clerk issues marriage licenses and records land instruments. Sheriffs and jailers keep local custody records, while state agencies maintain offender, driver, criminal-history, sex-offender, and vital-certificate systems. We organize those differences so readers can identify the correct custodian and avoid asking the Administrative Office of the Courts for a county file it does not hold.

- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific case applies to you
- We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, or address listed on this site is current right now
Only the issuing court or government office can provide a certified copy with an official seal. We can point you to the right office, but the document has to come from them.
